PESHAWAR, March 2: NWFP Assembly Speaker Bakhat Jehan Khan on Sunday asked the chief executive of the Peshawar Electricity Supply Company to provide electricity to villages in the backward area of Buner.

Talking to Pesco Chief Executive Brig Tahir Saeed Malik, who called on him at his chamber, the speaker said the people of Buner lacked infrastructure required for development and deserved special attention.

Despite installation of polls in several areas, connections had not been provided, he pointed out.

The speaker said the government would make all out efforts to provide other amenities to the people on priority basis.

The official assured the speaker that schemes for electricity supply to villages in the area would be launched.
