KARACHI: APC appeals for peace

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Feb 27: An all-parties conference has appealed to all sections of society to play their role in the maintenance of peace in Karachi.

The conference, organized by the Nizam-i-Mustafa Party with Haji Mohammed Hanif Tayyeb in the chair on Wednesday in a local hotel, adopted a resolution recalling the coming month of Muharram. The resolution said all those elements indulging in lawlessness were enemies of the country and humanity. “Killers of those offering prayers in mosques and other places of worship cannot be Muslims, so the government and the administration of Karachi should take notice and discharge its responsibility.”

The conference expressed solidarity with the people of Iraq and decided to participate in the PML (N) rally and the Million March on March 2.

By another resolution, the conference condemned the attitude of the US and Britain and their war preparations.

Those who spoke at the conference were Mairaj Mohammed Khan, Mir Nawaz Khan Marwat, Javed Jabbar, Syed Sadaat Ali Qaderi, Nehal Hashmi, Mehfoozyar Khan, Amin Khattak, Abdul Malik, Maulana Mohammed Yusuf Qasuri, Muzaffar Husain Hashmi, Alhaj Mohammed Rafi, Basharat Mirza, Amanullah Khan, Tariq Mehboob, Shaikh Anwar Habib and others.
