Briton kills two Afghan traders

KABUL, Feb 26: A British man killed two Afghans when an argument over a business deal erupted into a shootout at Kabul’s largest hotel, state media said on Wednesday.

“Colin Perry had a business deal with two Afghans, they argued and Perry pulled out a pistol and killed the two businessmen,” the official Bakhter news agency said. “An American man also sitting nearby was injured,” the agency said.

A British embassy spokeswoman confirmed one British man had been injured in a shooting incident on Tuesday in the Intercontinental Hotel, a 1960s-built structure overlooking the west of the city.

“There was a shooting at the Intercontinental Hotel, and we understand a British man was injured,” she said, adding that a man was being interviewed in hospital by the British consul.—AFP
