Anti-polio drive planned


PESHAWAR, Feb 26: NWFP Health Minister Mr Inayatullah has directed the executive district health officers (EDHOs) to provide polio vaccine to children below five years of age to ensure eradication of the disease.

He issued the directive while presiding over a meeting of the task force on extended programme of immunization (EPI) here on Wednesday, according to a handout.

To achieve the desired results of immunization initiatives, Mr Inayatullah directed for involving MPs, elected representatives, social workers, and women in running the campaign in an effective manner. The experts said two rounds of immunization campaign in high-risk areas had been planned for March and April.—Correspondent
