FAISALABAD, Feb 25: The Kotwali SHO and three constables thrashed a news photographer in Jhang Bazaar here on Monday night.

Following an information that some people were torturing a youth in Jhang Bazaar, Asadullah of daily Express along with a reporter rushed to the spot and took some snaps.

Kotwali SHO Fiaz Ihsan and his team also reached there and rescued the youth. He asked the photographer to hand him over the camera. On his refusal, the SHO became infuriated and started beating him. The policemen snatched the camera from him and threatened him with dire consequences.

The police chief, on a written complaint, has ordered a probe into the incident.

Meanwhile, the local journalists have urged the police highups to take stern action against the accused.
