Teachers plan strike

PESHAWAR, Feb 25: Teachers of the universities and affiliated school and colleges will observe strike on Wednesday against the universities model ordinance, said a press release on Tuesday.

It said the Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association would observe the strike to force the government to rescind the decision concerning implementation of the ordinance.

Teachers from all over the country would hold a protest demonstration in front of the National Assembly on  Wedne-sday, it said. It alleged that the government was pursuing implementation of the ordinance at the behest of the World Bank and the IMF.
