President, PM condole death of Afghan minister


ISLAMABAD, Feb 24: President Pervez Musharraf has expressed shock and sorrow over the death of Afghanistan’s mines and industry minister and his four colleagues in a plane crash near Karachi on Monday.

In a message to Afghan President Hamid Karzai, the President said: “I was deeply shocked to hear the sad news.”

The president, who is currently leading Pakistan’s delegation at the Non-Aligned Movement in Kuala Lumpur, also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali, in a separate message, to the Afghan President, expressed deep grief and anguish over the sad news.—APP
