RAWALPINDI, Feb 24: The Pakistan Muslim League-N would hold anti-war demonstrations throughout the country on February 28 to condemn possible US-attack on Iraq.
This was stated by the PML-N information secretary, Siddiqul Farooq, while speaking at a Press conference at the Rawalpindi Press Club on Monday. “Besides the other leaders, Nawabzada Nasrullah and Raja Zafarul Haq would lead the National Peace March in Rawalpindi,” he said. He said after the Jumma congregation, the rally would start from Dar-ul-Uloom Taleem-ul- Quraan, Raja Bazar and would culminate at Committee Chowk after passing through Fawwara Chowk and Iqbal Road.
He said the district government had given permission to take out the rally. “It was a critical juncture and the Muslims throughout the world should join hands to stop any US onslaught on Iraq.”
It’s the time to say no to the increasing US influence on our domestic politics, he said. He said the PML-N was not against the Americans but certainly against the hawkish policies of the US government.
