SUKKUR, Feb 24: Two Mazari tribesmen were killed on Monday after armed persons launched a rocket attack on the Ghulam Hussain village, near Kashmor.
The Kashmor police have said that it was difficult to ascertain the jurisdiction as the village is situated along the border between Balochistan and Sindh.
Both the deceased, Ghulam Mustafa Mazari and Mohammed Salam Mazari, were on their way to the Ghulam Hussain village on a motorcycle when they were attacked with rockets and hand grenades.
The motorcycle is said to have been blown to pieces in the attack.
The Kashmor police said that the Bugti tribesmen were responsible for the attack because of the on-going dispute between the Mazari and the Bugti tribes.
No arrest was reported till the filing of this report.
The incident has intensified the tension in Kashmor and other villages along the Sindh-Balochistan border.
In another incident several houses were damaged on Monday after rival groups of the Rind tribe resorted to fire rockets at each other’s positions in the Shah Ali Bugti village near Kandhkot.
Some livestock animals were reported to have been killed in the attacks but there was no human casualty.
Police said that hostilities, which erupted between both the groups three months ago over a piece of land, intensified a week ago.
Five houses, belonging to Piyaro, Sher Mohammed, Hari Ram, Bachal and Ghulam, were razed to the ground and 17 cattlehead, including buffaloes and goats, were killed in the incident.
MINOR BOY KILLED: An eight-year-old boy, Intizar Ali Kolachi, was shot dead on Monday by three persons of the Bozdar tribe in Jarwar, Ghotki district.
According to the police, the child had been the victim of a vendetta against a Bozdar tribesman’s murder, who was killed in the aerial firing during a marriage ceremony of the Jarwar tribe last month.
The police have registered a case against three persons, identified as Mevo, Mithu — both brothers — and Allah Warayo.
No arrest has so far been reported.
robbery: Eight armed bandits on Monday decamped with three cattlehead, Rs30,000 in cash, jewellry and other valuable items from the house of More Ali in Mir Murad Ali Colony after taking his entire family hostage.
The people of the colony staged a demonstration in old Sukkur after the C-section police refused to register an FIR in this connection.
No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.
Police claimed that the incident was the outcome of an old enmity instead of a “real” robbery.
