PESHAWAR, Feb 24: Police have failed to take action against the alleged land grabbers who had also murdered five persons in a property dispute in Nisata Hasanabad village of Mathra locality near here since 1994.
Speaking at a press conference at Peshawar Press Club here on Monday, Bakhtawar Shah alleged that the family of Abdul Qahhar, residents of the same village, illegally grabbed 4,213 kanals of his family land about nine years ago.
Later on, he with the connivance of another person Azim Khan, reader of a high court judge, fraudulently transferred the land to his name.
Bakhtawar Shah said that when his family tried to approach the police, his rival Abdul Qahhar and Azim Khan allegedly killed his grandfathers Ajoon Khan and Fojoon Khan. As a reward, Abdul Qahhar gave 33 per cent of the usurp land to Azim Khan, he added.
Mr Shah said that he along with his family left the village and shifted to some safer place. When he approached the court for justice, the family of Abdul Qahhar with connivance of the local police allegedly killed his uncle Gul Shah.
The police buried the body of his uncle as unclaimed to weaken the murder case, he said and added that the accused, later on, were exonerated from the murder charges by the local court.
The family of Abdul Qahhar again attacked his house with hand grenades when he filed a suit in a court in 1996, he said.
But the then SHO of Mathra police station, Rasheed Khan, illegally confined his family members for seven days to force them to withdraw FIRs and cases in court against Abdul Qahhar family.
Mr Shah said that the accused later on put Rahat Shah in an acid drum and burnt him alive. The police again buried the remains of Rahat Shah as unclaimed to save the accused. The family of Abdul Qahhar also murdered his father Mastan Shah. He said the alleged murders were still at large despite registering several FIRs with the police station concerned.
He appealed to the NWFP government and police high ups to provide justice against the family of Abdul Qahhar, who not only have killed five members of his family, but grabbed their lands illegally.
