KARACHI, Feb 24: A large number of students at the University of Karachi on Monday staged a protest demonstration against the killing of nine people in Al-Falah Society, Malir, on Saturday.

The students belonging to the Northern Areas Students’ Association (NASA) boycotted classes at the university and forced teachers and students to boycott classes at some of the departments and marched towards the main silver jubilee gate.

They staged a sit-in on the University Road in front of the university and raised slogans, demanding arrest of the killers.

Carrying banners and placards inscribed with different demands, they chanted slogans against the US and demanded of the authorities to arrest all those involved in the incident of terrorism and murder of innocent people.

Some of the activists of NASA pelted the passing vehicles with stones, breaking windowpanes of some of them, in front the university.

Although the rangers personnel deployed at the KU were present on the occasion, they did not intervene.

Later, the protesting students marched inside the KU.—PPI
