KARACHI: Strategy for MMA’s march reviewed

KARACHI, Feb 24: A meeting of the office-bearers of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP), held on Sunday to review the arrangements for ‘Million March’, organized by the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal on March 2, decided to approach common people at union council level to persuade them to participate in the demonstration.

The meeting, presided over by Mufti Abdul Haleem Qadri, asked the JUP workers to contact public, traders, representatives of other religious and political parties and students, in connection with the march.

JUP leaders also urged workers to distribute handbills and adopt techniques of mobile publicity and contact people from all walks of life to convince them to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Iraq and denounce the nefarious designs of US against the Muslim countries.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Qadri said that the MMA’s march would be an exemplary demo by Pakistani people’s to show hatred against war and to console their Muslim brethren.

Slamming US designs, he said, the world was now feeling the need for stopping US from destroying world peace and preparation of a code of conduct for the superpower, guided by moral obligations.

General secretary, JUP Karachi, Mohammad Amin Noorani, said that the nation was united against the US and its allies and wanted to express solidarity with the people of Iraq, like people of other peace-loving nations.—PPI
