Seven feared dead as pick-up falls into ravine

MARDAN, Feb 17: At least seven people disappeared and nine — five men, two women and two children — were saved who received injuries when a pick-up drowned into a flood level ravine at Khandar village here on Monday night.

It is learnt that a speedy Datsun pick-up packed with passengers fell into a flooded ravine at Khandar village some eight miles away from here when it was returning from a marriage ceremony from Jalbay village (Swabi) on Monday evening.

The driver of the pick-up, Missal Khan, was also among the missing persons.

Details about the names of the victims were still not confirmed, but the local authorities desperately making their efforts to find out the disappeared victims and the vehicle.
