LCCA lacks security

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, Feb 17: Security arrangements at the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) offices are inadequate.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), had completed the renovation of the LCCA ground and offices recently at a huge cost of around Rs 3.8 million but failed to give due attention to security matters

Meanwhile, the PCB renovated the ground and offices from the LCCA funds of Rs 5.3 million which it generated by hosting two matches, one against England in 2000 and another against New Zealand in 2002.

The PCB failed to complete renovation work according to the plan.

Besides the iron-grill, a water tank having the capacity of 1000 gallons is still to be built at the LCCA ground. The ground level is also uneven.

PCB chairman during his last visit to the LCCA, some two months back had assured that the remaining work would also be completed. But no action has been taken so far in this connection.
