KARACHI: Khalid’s killing condemned

KARACHI, Feb 17: A senior leader of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal and deputy chief of the Jamaat-i-Islami, Prof Ghafoor Ahmed, has expressed sorrow and grief at the killing of Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Khalid Bin Waleed and demanded the arrest of the killers.

In a statement, he said the killing would further deteriorate the law and order situation in Karachi.

“The government has completely failed in protecting the life and property of the people,” he said.

The President of the PPP, Karachi Division, Haji Muzaffar Ali Shujra, Secretary General Habibuddin Junaidi and the secretary information expressed sorrow over the killing of Khalid Bin Waleed.

In a statement, they demanded of the government to arrest the culprits and punishment to all those involved in the killing.

MINISTERS: The provincial minister for local government, kutchi abadis and special development, Mohammad Hussain, has condemned the killing of the central leader of the MQM, Khalid Bin Waleed, saying that it was a conspiracy to destabilise the provincial government.

In a statement on Monday, he said some disruptive elements wanted to destroy the peace of the province, particularly Karachi’s, through such acts of terrorism.

The minister expressed his heartfelt sympathy with the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty Allah to place the departed soul in eternal peace.

Sindh Minister for Works and Services Arbab Ghulam Rahim on Monday expressed his deep sense of grief and sorrow over the killing of former MPA Khalid Bin Waleed.

In his condolence message, the minister sympathized with the family and prayed to Almighty Allah to grant courage to the family members to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.

He said the assassins would be tracked down and punished severely according to law.

KUTS: The president and the secretary of the Karachi University Teachers Society, Sarwar Nasim and Dr Riaz Ahmed, on Monday expressed their deep sorrow over the murder of the Muttahida leader and former member of the KU Syndicate, Khalid Bin Waleed.

KATI: The patron-in-chief of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry and its chairman have expressed their grief over the brutal murder of the MQM leader.—PPI
