Light rain in 3 provinces


ISLAMABAD, Feb 16: Parts of Balochistan, Punjab and the Frontier province received light rain for the second consecutive day on Sunday.

According to Met office, Islamabad, Jhelum, Murree, Sialkot, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Chitral, Kalam, Parachinar, Muzaffarabad, Peshawar and Quetta received rain on Sunday, while there were reports of snowfall at Malamjabba, Astore and Skardu.

The rainfall at Parachinar was recorded at 29 millimetres. The Met office predicted that the present spell of rainfall would continue till Tuesday.

Major parts of Balochistan, including Quetta Valley, also received intermittent rain for the second consecutive day on Sunday.

The Met office recorded 17 millimetres of rain till 5pm.

The rain began around 6pm Saturday evening and continued intermittently till 4pm on Sunday.

Reports of rain were also received from Pishin, Kalat, Sibi, Zhob and other areas.

Local Met office has forecast thunderstorm with chances of rains during the next 24 hours.—PPI
