Sherpao supports strong provinces

PESHAWAR, Feb 16: Minister for water and power, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, said that strong provinces could provide base for a strong federation, so the federal government should resolve the issues related to the provinces.

This he said, while speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of the newly-elected office-bearers of the district bar, Haripur, on Saturday.

He said that the present National Assembly was as dignified as the previous assemblies, and it would further stabilize with the passage of time.

He said that democracy was inevitable for the country and all political parties should adopt positive approach for the sake of democracy.

He appreciated the role of lawyers for democracy.

He announced a grant of Rs50,000 for the bar and ordered the authorities concerned to charge electricity rates, for the lawyers’ offices, according to the domestic tariff.—APP
