JACOBABAD, Feb 16: A strike was observed in Jacobabad on Saturday on the call of the Sindh Taraqqi Passand Party (STPP) to protest against the corrupt officials of Wapda.

STPP activists surrounded the Wapda office and burnt an effigy of the Wapda SDO and XEN in protest against their malpractices in the district.

The party leaders postponed their march to Rajhon Jamali and held a sit-in in front of the house of MPA Naseer Khan Khoso.

They demanded that the corrupt officials of Wapda be suspended.

They warned that if their demands were not met they would give a call for a strike on Feb 25 for the removal of all corrupt Wapda officials.

SPLA: A protest meeting of the Sindh Professors and Lectures Association (SPLA) was held on Saturday in the Government Degree Boys College, Jacobabad, against the malpractices of the EDO, Education, Sukkur, Rafia Naz Pathan.

The general secretary, SPLA, Sindh, Manzoor Ali, underlined the problems being faced by the professors and lecturers of Sukkur due to the malpractices of the EDO, and added that the entire teaching staff of Sukkur was fed up with the EDO.

He said many SPLA meetings were held for her immediate removal as she was involved in bribery, misappropriation of funds, and misbehaving with professors and lecturers.

He said that she had superseded seniors and elevated as the EDO through the back door.
