Nazim reviews horse and cattle show preparations

SARGODHA, Feb 15: District Nazim Malik Amjad Ali Noon reviewed on Saturday arrangements for the annual horse and cattle show to be held from Feb 17 to 22.

Speaking at the Mela Mandi Ground, the Nazim expressed hope that the show this year would be more recreational and attractive.

He urged the public representatives to play a constructive role in making the event a success. He added Prime Minister Mir Zafrullah Khan Jamali would be the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony on the concluding day.

Tehsil Nazim Dr Liaquat Ali Khan, District Coordination Officer Hassan Iqbal and EDOs of various departments were present on the occasion.

HOUSING SCHEMES: The government was striving to involve private sector in the construction of big housing schemes, Punjab Irrigation and Power Minister Amir Sultan Cheema said on Saturday.

Inaugurating Defence Housing Scheme on the Faisalabad Road, he said the government was planning area development schemes throughout the Punjab to provide inexpensive residences to the low-paid people.

Earlier, director of the scheme, Arshad Toor, informed the minister that the 13-kanal scheme having plots of one kanal and five marlas would offer all the basic facilities.
