ISLAMABAD, Feb 14: The four Pakistani pilgrims who died in the Mina stampede were buried in Saudi Arabia, according to officials in Islamabad.

The four Pakistanis were among 14 pilgrims killed in the stampede on Tuesday.

Those killed in the stampede have been identified as Sakina Bibi, wife of Abdul Majeed from Mandi Bahauddin, Zaitoon Bibi, wife of Ashraf from Karachi, Far Ahmed, son of Ghulam Yassir from Mansehra, and Din Mohammad, son of Mohammad Zikriya from Naushki, Balochistan.

The stampede took place while pilgrims returning to their camps at 10.30am after the stone-throwing ritual were met by a swathe of pilgrims coming from the opposite direction.

Immediately after news of the stampede broke, the religious affairs ministry had said it had no information about any Pakistanis among those killed or injured.
