MPA escapes bid on life

RAHIMYAR KHAN, Feb 14: PML-N MPA Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq escaped narrowly in a murder attempt here on Friday.

The MPA had defeated his rival candidate Zahid Munir in the October election. Munir had allegedly gave murder threats to Chaudhry Shafiq over telephone. On Friday, the MPA was present in his house when some people came there on a pick-up, opened fire and escaped from the scene. He saved his life after taking shelter behind a wall. It is learnt that both the rival parties have settled the matter.

City police, however, have registered a case.
