KARACHI, Feb 14: Police arrested 13 people for snatching hide and skin of sacrificial animals in different areas of the metropolis during the three days of Eidul Azha.

Police said they nabbed five persons in Landhi and recovered 13 hides from their possession which they had snatched from people at gunpoint. A TT pistol was also recovered from them.

Police claimed that the five suspects were affiliated with an ethnic party.

Four persons were apprehended in Lines Area in the police limits of Brigade, who had allegedly collected hide and skin.

Three of them are affiliated with a charity and one belongs to a religious group.

Four persons were also held in the police limits of New Karachi for snatching hide and skin. Police recovered five hides from their possession. Police said a ban on collection of hide and skin was imposed by the City Nazim under Section 144 of the CrPC.
