KARACHI: Regularization of illegal buildings by March 18

KARACHI, Feb 14: Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA) will receive applications for the regularization of illegally-constructed buildings up to March 18, according to the Chief Controller of Buildings, Brig A. S. Nasir.

He explained on Friday that the structures raised without an approved plan or in violation of a plan could be regularized on payment of prescribed penalty by that date.

He hinted that regularization fee of commercial, residential, micro and cottage industry plots of up to 240 sq-yards and flats of up to 1,000 sq-feet would be reduced. He appealed to the people to stop any illegal construction forthwith.

Brig Nasir warned that illegal buildings would be demolished and further action, which may include cancellation of lease, disconnection of water, power, telephone and gas, was possible after the deadline.

He advised those willing to get their construction regularized to submit their building plans at the special counters set up for the purpose alongwith pictures of the structure, taken from all four sides.—APP
