Warne must explain: Qadir

ISLAMABAD, Feb 11: Former Pakistani leg-spinner Abdul Qadir said Shane Warne had a duty as a role model to explain the failed drugs test which caused his ignominious exit from the World Cup on Tuesday.

“As far as his bowling ability is concerned, we all know he’s a great bowler. Only he knows what the truth really is,” Qadir told Reuters from Lahore.

“As a role model for future generations, it is important for him to tell the truth as it is.”

Qadir said he was shocked by the news. “The World Cup was the last chance for everyone to see such a classy bowler in action in such a big tournament,” he said. —Reuters
