Three killed, 20 injured as bus overturns

SHEIKHUPURA, Feb 11: Three passengers of bus were killed while 20 others sustained injuries in an accident near Dhool Kot, Nankana Sahib, on Tuesday.

Police said the bus (SA-3642) was going to Nankana Sahib from Shahkot when it overturned near Dhool Kot in a bid to save a donkey cart.

Tanvir Husain, Boota and Sadiq died on the spot while 20 others sustained injuries, including donkey cart owner Sher Ali. The injured were admitted to the THQ Hospital.

Nankana Sadar police are investigating.

SHOT DEAD: College student Umar Ijaz was shot dead allegedly by one Atif in Ghang village, some eight kilometres from here, on Tuesday.

Police said fathers of Umar and Atif had a quarrel some time ago. Atif murdered Umar to avenge his father’s insult.

Bhekhi police have registered a case with no arrest.
