KARACHI: Speedy disposal of officials’ cases ordered

KARACHI, Feb 11: Sindh Chief Secretary K. B. Rind has issued instructions to the provincial secretaries and heads of government departments to dispose of on a priority basis all applications, appeals and cases of officials and personnel falling in their jurisdictions which despite approval by the competent authorities have been lying in abeyance.

Talking to newsmen in his office here the other day about the appeal of a sub-engineer of the sanitation and sewerage department of the City District Government Karachi (formerly the KWSB), Mohammed Ashraf Qureshi, whose service was restored by the appellate authority in November last year, but till Feb 10, despite the passage of three months, the court decision remained unimplemented. Taking cognizance of this anomaly, the chief secretary ordered the department concerned to resolve this issue forthwith.

Mr Rind told newsmen that all the departments had been issued clear instructions to ensure disposal of all pending official cases within a fortnight after Eidul Azha and a report should be submitted to him.—PPI
