LAHORE, Feb 10: A four-member delegation of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal called on Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi here on Monday to discuss cooperation with the PML-Q in the Senate polls.

The delegation, led by MNA Liaquat Baloch, included MPA Ehsanullah Waqas, Pir Ijaz Hashmi and Allama Sibtain Kazmi, sought the PML-Q cooperation in the election of MMA vice-president Allama Sajid Naqvi to the Senate on a general seat from the Punjab.

According to Mr Baloch, the talks were preliminary in nature and held to work out what and how 11 votes of the MMA in the province could benefit the PML-Q and what the League could do in return.

The chief minister assured the visitors that while formulating government policies, suggestions of all MPs and political parties would be taken into account.

“Difference of opinion in the political arena will not affect our mutual relations,” he said.

Meanwhile, provincial industries minister Muhammad Ajmal Cheema also called on the chief minister to inform him about the progress on various ongoing industrial projects.
