PESHAWAR, Feb 9: Federal Minister for Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis Mr Abdul Sattar Laleka called on NWFP Governor Iftikhar Hussain Shah here on Sunday and informed him about the problems impeding the completion of a housing project for the overseas Pakistanis, including the issue of possession of 45 kanals for which payments have already been made.

The minister apprised the governor about the activities of the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) in the Frontier province. He said that a housing colony in Peshawar was nearing completion where as many as 900 plots of different sizes had been allotted to the Pakistanis working abroad, says a handout.

Governor Iftikhar Hussain assured the minister that proper arrangements would be made to solve the problems facing the OPF projects in the province.

The minister informed the governor that the issue of possession of 45 kanals acquired for the OPF housing project was hindering the early completion of the project.

He also sought the governor’s cooperation in finding a suitable building for the OPF school at Chakdarra in lower Dir.

Overseas Pakistanis Foundation Managing Director Mr Rashid Mahmood Ansari was also present on the occasion.
