KARACHI, Feb 5: Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammed Khan Mahar held a meeting with his Balochistan counterpart, Jam Mohammed Yousuf, at the CM House here on Wednesday.
During the two-hour long meeting, the chief ministers discussed law and order situation in the two provinces besides other matters of mutual interest.
Mr Mahar stressed the need for the setting up of a border force to check the movement of criminals who cross over to the other province after committing heinous crimes to escape arrest.
He told Jam Yousuf that since criminals managed to find sanctuary in the mountainous areas, the proposed border force would be trained to locate and apprehend wanted offenders in mountainous regions.
Mr Mahar sought Balochistan CM’s extended cooperation in this regard and said that the Sindh police were being equipped with modern equipment to deal with crime.
He pointed out that an honest and dedicated police force was set up to establish writ of law and provide relief to the common man.
