ISLAMABAD, Feb 3: A large number of intending pilgrims on Monday staged a demonstration against refusal of their Haj applications submitted under Open Haj Scheme (OHS).

The demonstrators blocked Garden Avenue in front of the religious affairs ministry for over three hours, causing inconvenience to the commuters and traffic.

They were carrying banners and placards inscribed with different slogans. They were chanting slogans against a senior joint secretary of the ministry for not entertaining their application.
