Illegal vehicles increase in Malakand

By Ali Hazrat Bacha

MINGORA, Feb 3: The number of non-customs-paid vehicles is increasing in Malakand.

The vehicles have been allotted temporary registration numbers by the police stations concerned but most of them are without number plates, flouting government orders in this regard.

During the past few years, the number of such vehicles has increased to such an extent that few registered vehicles are seen on the road.

Such vehicles are often misused by the owners as there is no record. Criminals also allegedly use stolen vehicles in the garb of non-customs-paid ones.

The police can hardly detect a stolen vehicle among hundreds of non-customs-paid vehicles.
