Dars was elected unopposed. Bhomo Kolhi and Wallfred Masih were elected as vice president and joint secretary respectively.

Liberated Haris had formed the Azad Hari Union on September 16, 2000 at the Hari Haqdar Convention, which had been held in Mirpurkhas.

Polling was held at four places — Miprurkhas, Hyderabad, Badin and Khipro.

Shahu Bheel and Ms Azeem were elected president and general secretary of the union respectively for the interim set-up.
