Adnan Jafri sparkles

KARACHI, Feb 2: A superb all-round performance by Adnan Jafri helped Aga Khan University Staff crush Cougars by eight wickets in a match of the 1st Abdul Quddoos Sheikh Memorial Multinational Cricket Tournament at AKU Ground here on Sunday.

Batting first, Cougars were bundled out for 147 despite an opening partnership of 96 between Aftab Ahmed (54) and Aamir G. Khan (40).

Adnan caused the main damage with figures of three for 26. He then struck an unbeaten 76.

*At Aga Khan University Ground:

AKU Staff beat Cougars by eight wickets.

COUGARS 147 in 24.4 overs (Aftab Ahmed 54, Aamir G. Khan 40, Adnan Zahoor 26; Adnan Jafri 3-26, Aslam Jindani 2-15);

AKU STAFF 149-2 in 17.2 overs (Adnan Jafri 76 not out, Shahid Hussain 27).

*At NBP Sports Complex:

Wackenhut beat International Power by nine wickets.

INTERNATIONAL POWER 149 in 25 overs (Fahad Anjum 82; Shaukat Mirza 4-23, Musharraf 3-24, Saqib Younis 2-26);

WACKENHUT 150-1 in 17.2 overs (Anwar Ali 84 not out, Amjad Ali Baig 53 not out).
