TOBA TEK SINGH, Feb 2: The arrested man, Saeed Ahmad alias commando, has no links with Al-Qaeda or any terrorist organization although he had been taking part in Kashmir jihad along with a Kashmiri jihadi outfit.
This was stated here on Sunday by his father Noor Muhammad.
He said he was unaware that the provincial government had set any head money for his son. He claimed that his son was not arrested by police, but he himself surrendered to police. He was declared PO in a case registered against him by Rajana police under the Explosive Act and Anti-Terrorism Act in 1998 in which all other four accused had already been acquitted by Faisalabad Anti-Terrorism Court, he said.
In 1998, the police had raided Chak 335-GB near Rajana and recovered sophisticated weapons, including landmines, smoke guns, rocket launchers, hand grenades and other arms. During interrogation, the arrested accused informed police that they had stocked the weapons with the help of accused Saeed commando. However, police succeeded in arresting Saeed after the passage of four-and-a-half-year.
