LoC fencing

JAMMU, Jan 31: India expects to finish fencing the area under its control along the Line of Control (LoC) in two years, a senior official said on Friday.

“Last year we completed over 40kms of border fencing and we expect to complete the work by the end of 2005,” Dilip Trivedi, inspector general of India’s the Border Security Force (BSF), said.

Officials said work on the project had sometimes been stalled in the past due to heavy firing from Pakistan. —Reuters
