Rain curtails play in Peshawar

KARACHI, Jan 29: Rain curtailed play to only 84 minutes on the second day of the Quaid Trophy quarterfinal between Sargodha and Rawalpindi at Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar on Wednesday.

According to details available here, after the start was delayed by 30 minutes because of early morning showers, Sargodha resumed their first innings at the overnight score of 297 for three and had advanced to 365 when more rain to stop play for the day.

Just before the stoppage for rain, 19 minutes prior to the lunch interval, Majid Saeed had become the second batsman in Sargodha’s innings to reach three figures. He was batting on 105 along with Usman Arshad (35) in the unbroken fourth-wicket stand of 141 in 121 minutes.

Majid’s 159-ball knock contains 18 boundaries.
