Kenya frees 6 Pakistanis

NAIROBI, Jan 26: After hectic efforts by Pakistan’s human and civil rights organizations and Pakistan High Commission in Nairobi, the Kenyan authorities have released six Pakistani fishermen on Saturday after detaining them for two months and questioning them about the anti-Israeli attacks that left dozens of people dead near Mombassa on Nov 28, 2002.

The six arrested on terrorism charges were found innocent by the Kenyan government.

Their names are: Dur Muhammad s/o Dost Mohammad, Muhammad Rahim s/o Mosa, Ghulam Nabi s/o Ahmad, Abdur Raza s/o Jharo, Abdul Majeed s/o Issa, Mir Muhammad, s/o Ibrahim Haidri were released from the Mombasa Jail and will leave for Pakistan soon.—PPI
