Easy victory for My Fantasy
LAHORE, Jan 26: Bay filly My Fantasy, owned by Anjum Parvez Khan, romped home to an easy win in the feature event run over 1200m, during the Lahore Winter Meeting at the Racecourse on Sunday.
Five to one chance My Fantasy, came from behind to gain an easy success over the front-runner Royal Strength by two and a quarter lengths. Fancied blue-roan Familiar Master, who was given a patient ride by jockey Shahid Rehman pulled up lame and finished third, two lengths further behind while Star Gate made up the frame losing by about two lengths. In all, 12 ran for the feature and fourth race of the day.
The Lahore Race Club (LRC) stewards had earlier announced that the feature event will be run over 1200m distance as desired by the owners of horses taking part in the race.

Owned by Sohrab Khan, the 70 to 100 favourite Hot Spell, defeated another bay mare Silver Heart by one-and-a-half lengths. Morning Bird and Silk Route completed the board among a dozen runners. Trained by Amjad Ali II, the winner clocked one minute 1 2/5 seconds over the sprinting distance of 1000 metres.
A totally neglected bay filly Rambo Princess caused a big upset in the fifth and last race of the day. The progeny of Rambo out-of-Al Zeenat, the filly Rambo Princess beat Copper Fields, Madam Lorina and Super Land in the same order. In all, 14 ran for the event after the last-minute withdrawal of Delta Song from the contest.
The odds-on favourite bay colt Lucky Dawn stormed home in the dying strides to pip second favourite chestnut horse Free My Heart in the opener. Luck favoured heavily when the colt responded to Shahid Rehman’s urging and record his maiden victory.
