Top level changes in bureaucracy


ISLAMABAD, Jan 25: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Saturday made some high-level changes in the bureaucracy, appointing Khawaja Ijaz Sarwar as secretary labour, manpower and overseas Pakistanis and Major (retd) Mohammad Aslam Nasir as chief secretary Balochistan.

Pervaiz Saleem, chief secretary Balochistan, has been made an officer on special duty with immediate effect.

The prime minister also approved the termination of contract re-employment of Farhat Hussain as secretary ministry of labour, manpower and overseas Pakistanis.

According to a notification issued on Saturday, S.M. Hasan Zaidi, a BS-20 officer of the secretariat group, currently posted as director general, Board of Investment, was transferred and posted as joint secretary, industries and production division.

Khalid Saeed, a BS-21 officer of the district management group, at present posted as additional secretary, commerce division, was allowed to look after the work of secretary, commerce division, in additional to his own duties.

Mirza Qamar Beg, a BS-22 officer of the secretariat group, at present posted as secretary, ministry of commerce, was transferred and posted as officer on special duty, establishment division.

Riaz Ahmed Khan, additional secretary, ministry of water and power, was allowed to look

after the work of the post of secretary, ministry of water and power, in addition to his own duties.—APP
