Narrow success for Wapda

RAWALPINDI, Jan 25: Wapda advanced to the quarterfinals of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy on Saturday by scoring a two-wicket win over Customs on the fourth and final day of the match at KRL Stadium.

Wapda, 127 for six overnight, and requiring another 63 runs to wrap up the match achieved the target with two wickets to spare and totalling 190.

Shahid Mansoor, the overnight not out batsman, top-scored with 63 while Zahid Umar contributed 37 to make the victory possible.

Imran Ali, who captured five for 68 and Nadeem Iqbal with three for 38 were the main wicket-takers for Customs.

Wapda will face PIA in the quarterfinal at Pindi Stadium.
