LARKANA: NA leaders to meet tomorrow

LARKANA, Jan 25: Sindh minister for communication and works Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has alleged that the provincial chief minister has deviated from the points agreed upon by the coalition partners.

He was talking to journalists at a reception, hosted by the Pakistan Muslim League-Q leader, Masood Ahmed Khuhro, at the Khuhro House here on Friday.

The National Alliance minister said that the alliance leaders would meet on Monday to discuss the situation.

Mr Arbab said that the NA had received a message that a high-powered delegation from the Center would arrive in Sindh in a week to sort out the differences.

The delegation, he said, had earlier helped form the coalition government in Sindh.

He said that they did not want to destabilise the Sindh government rather they wished to see democratic process taking root in the province. That was why, he added, they were taking every step carefully.

He said that the stand, taken by the NA regarding the implementation of the formula evolved before the formation of the Sindh government, was based on principles.

He said: “ Before the formation of the Mahar government, I had turned down the offer of the People’s Party Parliamentarians for the top slot in Sindh.”

When asked whether he would accept the offer if it was repeated by the PPP in the new situation, Mr Arbab said that it was premature to comment.

HIGHWAY: The Sindh government will ask the federal government for urgent repair of Sehwan-Ratodero section of the Indus Highway.

This was said by the provincial minister at a meeting of officials of different government departments here on Saturday.
