Chinese official escapes kidnap attempt

PESHAWAR, Jan 24: The Frontier Constabulary officials got freed a Chinese engineer and two Pakistanis after exchange of fire with the kidnappers near Tank.

According to a handout, Lee, the Chinese engineer, was going with his Pakistani colleague and a driver from Gomal Zam Dam in Dera Ismail Khan to Tank on Thursday, when armed persons kidnapped them.

The FC personnel, after receiving information, chased the vehicle and after exchange of fire, arrested the accused and freed the three men.—Bureau
