KARACHI, Jan 24: A couple died in a road accident in Korangi Industrial Area on Friday.
Police said Abdul Qayyum, aged 40, and his wife, Zareena, aged 35, riding a motorcycle, were knocked down by a speeding NLC trailer on Jam Sadiq Ali Bridge.
They died on the spot.
Police claimed to have arrested the trailer driver, identified as Mahboob.
A young man died in a road accident late Thursday night.
Police said Ghulam Husain was run over by a speeding minibus of route W-22 while walking across a road.
He was rushed to Civil Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
KILLED: A shopkeeper was found murdered off Super Highway.
Police said Jameeluddin, aged 51, a shopkeeper at Firdous Shopping Centre in Liaquatabad, was kidnapped near his shop on Thursday evening. On Friday morning he was found murdered at a desolate place in Ahsanabad near Gulshan-i-Maymar on Super Highway.
Police said Jameeluddin might have been a supporter of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement.
However, it could not be confirmed till our going to press.
