KARACHI: MMA plans to remove banners

KARACHI, Jan 24: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) on Friday staged a protest rally at Lasbela Chowk to condemn registration of cases against its workers and leadership.

MMA workers carrying banners and placards inscribed with anti-Muttahida slogans chanted slogans against the present government and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

MMA Karachi President Hafiz Muhammad Taqi, speaking on the occasion, criticized the present government for empowering “terrorists” in Karachi and Sindh and accused the Muttahida of acting on a US agenda to destabilize Pakistan.

“They have once again started politics of violence and hatred in Karachi to appease their US masters”, he said.

He warned if the provocative banners were not removed within 24 hours, the MMA would itself take initiative and the government would be responsible the consequences.—PPI
