SSGC, KPT in semifinals

KARACHI, Jan 23: Taj Mohammad’s golden goal steered Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) into semifinals after they defeated KESC in the All-Pakistan Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto football tournament Thursday.

Taj struck the match winner a minute before end of extra time.

SSGC took the lead through a 31st-minute Mohammad Habib free kick from 35 metres, while Akbar Ali headed home a Ghulam Habib free kick in the 44th minute to level the scores.

Karachi Port Trust (KPT) also reached semifinals after a 2-0 win over Wapda.

After a barren first half, Fareed Majeed put KPT ahead off a Ghulam Farooq pass in the 66th minute, and Mohammad Idrees doubled the lead in the 76th minute.
