Third success for Yousuf

KARACHI, Jan 23: Muhammad Yousuf recorded his third victory in Laser class on second day of “Sail the Gulf” trials on Thursday.

In the fourth race of Laser class Yousuf got his third victory. Suleman Anjum was followed into second place and Ashfaq Iqbal finished third.

Earlier in the third race another upset was seen in which Mazhar was found leading the fleet throughout the race. He did not let anyone come close including yesterday’s leader Yousuf.

Mazhar finished first, Yousuf was second with Ashfaq Iqbal in third spot.

After four races Yousuf is leading with zero points followed by Mazhar with 13 points and Ashfaq Iqbal (14.4) in third.

In 470 Class third race started in light southwesterly winds. Muhammad Riaz and Akram Tariq made a flying start and took an early lead against rivals Mamoon Sadiq and Imran Iftikhar.

The situation continued like this throughout the race and Riaz and Akram won the race with a comfortable margin.

In the 470 Class Mamoon and Imran came back to take control of the fourth race and finished first. Riaz and Akram followed.

After four races Mamoon Sadiq and Imran are leading with zero penalty points. Riaz and Akram Tariq are second.—APP
