AG Punjab replaced

ISLAMABAD, Jan 23: Maqbool Ellahi Malik, Advocate General Punjab, was relieved of his duties on Thursday, and Shabar Raza was appointed in his place.

Maqbool Ellahi Malik, the longest-serving AG Punjab’s latest tenure spanned over three years. He was first appointed to this position in July 1977 and worked for one year and a half. His second tenure started in 1988 which continued for five years.

His last tenure started in 1999 which came to an end on Thursday, when his appointment was denotified.

Shabar Raza, the new AG Punjab, had served as Additional Advocate General Punjab when Abdus Sattar Najam was the AG Punjab.

Maqbool Ellahi Malik, senior advocate of Supreme Court, was in Islamabad, when his appointment was denotified.

He said that the change was the essence of life and he had no complaint against anybody.

He said he would now establish his office in Islamabad.
