Emirates urged to invest in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Jan 23: The government has invited the crown prince of Dubai and defence minister of UAE Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to visit Pakistan along with a team of experts to look into the investment opportunities in Pakistan.

The invitation was extended by minister for industries and production Liaqat Ali Khan Jatoi, who met the crown prince in Dubai on Thursday, an official announcement said here.

Mr Jatoi also raised problems faced by the Pakistani workers in the UAE and sought government interest to create more job opportunities for the skilled Pakistani workers.

He also delivered a letter of Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali to the crown prince. Mr Jamali in his letter praised the vision and leadership of the rulers of UAE in general and Shaikh Mohammad in particular because due to him Dubai has not only become the hub of economic activities in the region.

The success of Jabal al Ali Free Zone Authority was mentioned particularly, serving as a model in the region.

The minister emphasized the need for more economic cooperation between Pakistan and UAE. Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, executive chairman of ports, customs & free zones was also present.
