Fayyaz puts Pindi on top

KARACHI, Jan 22: Paceman Mohammad Fayyaz captured five for 23 to help Rawalpindi bowled out Multan for 172 in their first innings of the Quaid Trophy pre-quarterfinal tie at Multan Cricket Stadium.

The visitors recovered from the shock of being 10 for three to reach 111 without further loss, according to details available here.

Faisalabad gain ascendancy over Sialkot in their match at Bahawalpur Stadium in Bahawalpur.

After bowling Sialkot for 121, Faisalabad went to stumps at 132 for four in reply.

Meanwhile, 28.2 overs were possible on the first day of the game between Lahore Whites and Sargodha at Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar.

Lahore Whites, sent in by Sargodha, were in trouble at 89 for six. Play started at 2.15pm after fog prevented a start at the schedule time.
