KARACHI: Technology students urged to write research papers

KARACHI, Jan 19: Dean Faculty of Engineering, Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET), Dr Syed Enamul Haque, has exhorted the students to start writing research- oriented papers which would go a long way in establishing them as true professionals.

“Acquisition of knowledge must be complemented with dissemination of knowledge through which the goal of perfection can be achieved”, he emphasised while inaugurating a full-day All Pakistan University Students seminar here on Sunday.

The seminar held at SSUET was jointly organised by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Pakistan (IEEEP) and Sir Syed University.

Dr Enamul Haque said SSUET would provide all possible help including financial assistance to the extent of Rs10,000 for writing research papers by the students.

Welcoming the teachers and students from the participant universities, Dr Enam advised them to continue their efforts in the field of research and devote a substantial time in reading national and international science and engineering publications and research papers.

He told them to make maximum use of internet in that regard and not to be disheartened if their research papers were considered on merit as that would be of secondary importance.

The inaugural session was followed by technical sessions.—APP
